Level 1: Walkovers Class

Welcome to the Level 1 Tumbling Walkovers class! In this class, we will focus on mastering fundamental tumbling skills with specific focus on level 1 cheer tumbling skills like front walkovers, back walkovers, back extension rolls, valdez and more. Athletes will continue to develop stronger technique in basics like handstands, cartwheels, and rolls. Once athletes have acquired skills, we will work on connecting level 1 tumbling skills for longer tumbling passes. Our experienced coaches will guide you through step-by-step drills and progressions to help you build strength, flexibility, and technique.

Before joining, athletes must have completed our Level 0 tumbling class or demonstrate the ability to perform a backbend and kickover without assistance on the spring floor. Athletes in this class are assessed on a monthly basis for new skills and possible class promotion. Athletes who can complete all the following individual skills: front walkovers, back walkovers, back extension rolls, valdez AND can connect 2+ standing skills and 3+ running skills with strong technique and timing, will be promoted to the Level 2: Handsprings class.
